MG Hector Roof Rail Installation Guide
Professional installation guide for MG Hector roof rails and cross bars.
Gather Tools
You will need: Allen keys (included), torque wrench, clean microfiber cloth, and rubbing alcohol for surface prep.
Clean Mounting Points
Open the roof rail mounting point covers on the Hector roof. Clean each point with rubbing alcohol to remove wax and debris.
Position Rails
Place the left and right rails on the roof, aligning the mounting brackets with the pre-drilled holes.
Pro Tip: Have a helper hold the rail while you work. Avoid scratching the roof paint.
Insert Mounting Bolts
Hand-tighten all bolts first to ensure proper alignment. Do not fully torque yet.
Torque to Specification
Using a torque wrench, tighten each bolt to 25 Nm. Work in a cross pattern for even pressure distribution.
Install End Caps
Snap the decorative end caps onto both ends of each rail. Press firmly until they click.
Load Test
Apply gentle downward pressure on each rail to confirm secure mounting. Maximum load capacity: 75 kg.
Pro Tip: Check bolt tightness after the first 500 km of driving with the rails installed.
